Router Check-Up

Hi Pinki and Sandipan

I conducted a check-up on the router placed in the conference room as discussed. During the testing, I connected four different systems and performed a variety of tasks to monitor the network performance.

I observed that:

The network speed remained stable during basic web browsing and general online activities.
However, significant fluctuations occurred when conducting Zoom meetings or other high-bandwidth tasks.

Given these findings, I recommend that we contact the router service provider for a detailed consultation. They will be able to analyze the issue further and advise on the necessary steps to improve the network performance.

What is the kind of fluctuations observed. Is there any metric? Is it leading to slowness?. Is there any saturation on I/O operations.

Fluctuations Observed:
The fluctuations were primarily observed in the network speed during real-time communication activities, specifically while conducting Zoom meetings. The connection exhibited variations in latency and bandwidth availability.

Slowness Issues:
Yes, the fluctuations led to intermittent slowness and degraded quality during Zoom calls, including delays, video freezing, and audio dropouts. This behavior was not observed during simple tasks like browsing or document downloads.

Thank you for your email (although we would have appreciated it better if you had provided some relevant evidence as well. That would give us a sense of the gravity of the problem). Please contact the service provider at the earliest and kindly update us, this week itself. This is a critical issue as many of our events and meetings use the Conference room facility.
