My Review of Nikita's Laptop:

The laptop takes 15 minutes to boot up, the battery is dead, and the keyboard is not responding properly. Additionally, when using the browser, the screen sometimes crashes, and there is no response from the browser.

My Suggestion:

If we want to use the system for another year or more, we need to replace the battery and the keyboard. We have already replaced the keyboard once, and it’s not worth investing more money into this system.

Dear Pinki,

As discussed, I have listed below some issues with my laptop that I am continuing to face.
  • Despite the replacement of the keyboard, some keys have issues. For example, "a", "g", "space bar" often don't get pressed on first attempt and require extra force. Most of my work requires typing. These keys malfunctioning can lead to me adding an error inadvertently.
  • When more than 4-5 tabs are opened in Chrome, the screen crashes, turns black, and flashes. This issue takes quite some time to resolve on its own.
  • The computer takes a long time to boot. So if I come to office at 9, it is already 9:15 or later by the time my laptop is able to open Chrome and other required applications.
  • It requires direct charge these days. The battery is dead. So if I want to show my work or go for a meeting with my laptop, it will have to be restarted and it will take 10 minutes or more at the least.
The following are the applications/features I require for my work:
  1. MS Office Suite 21
  2. Adobe Reader/any pdf reader, preferably allows editing
  3. Google Chrome Suite
  4. Windows 10 or more
  5. Canva, MS Clipchamp, Photoshop, other tools to create graphics for social media
  6. A good, comfortable keyboard
  7. Optimum brightness and display settings - allowing visibility in different settings, limits strain on eyes
  8. Good battery life - so it can go without charging for some hours.
  9. Plenty of storage space - since all of the EC's work is here.
I am sharing the link to my current personal laptop whose configurations and settings have been conducive to editing work. Even then, screen visibility in bright environments can be improved further. Since this laptop would be used for a long time, one with features more advanced than the current requirements would be best.

With thanks and regards,
Nikita
